First Nations in Manitoba welcome opening of gaming facility

Manitoba's third Native casino opened its doors on Monday.

The Sand Hills Casino is located on the Swan Lake First Nation. The 31,000 square-foot facility features 350 slot machines, several table games, a lounge and a restaurant.

The casino is putting 175 people to work. About 60 percent are Native, a spokesperson said.

All 63 First Nations in the province will share in the profits from the facility.
