The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of Montana acquired a prime piece of real estate that once housed a casino.

The tribe bought the 13-acre Sunny Shores Resort for $1.2 million, The Char-Koosta News reported. The site includes 78 boat slips, a general store, RV hook-ups and several buildings, including one that housed a gaming operation up until around 2008.

“It was a prime piece of property that would be advantageous for the tribe to acquire," Carolee Wenderoth of the tribal lands department told the paper.
