The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is in negotiations for a new Class III gaming compact.

The current compact limits the tribe to 250 slot machines. Tribal officials say they need to add more machines at the Prairie Wind Casino and the East Wind Casino.

The tribe signed an extension of the current compact last November but it expired on June 29.
