The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe will be taking over operations at its gaming facility..

Exceptional Gaming had been managing the Paragon Casino Resort for the past 14 years. But the tribe decided to let the contract expire this month.

"For more than a decade, Exceptional Gaming has made tremendous contributions to our growth," Chairman Joey P. Barbry said in a press release. "As everyone knows, Paragon Casino Resort is the economic engine for Marksville and Avoyelles Parish."

In the press release, Barbry said regional competition has had a "negative impact on operations" at the casino. The tribe shares revenues with the community every quarter but wasn't required to do so this past quarter.
