The Enterprise Rancheria is still waiting on lawmakers in California to ratify its Class III gaming compact.

Gov. Jerry Brown (D) signed the compact two years ago this month. But opposition from tribes with existing casinos has prevented it from moving forward.

With less than two weeks in the legislative session, no vote has been scheduled on AB 1098, a bill to ratify the compact, The Marysville/Yuba City Appeal-Democrat reported. The tribe, however, remains hopeful.

"We have options, and we are still working on them," spokesperson Charles Altekruse told the paper. "We are just moving the compact forward."

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has already placed the 40-acre casino site in trust.
