After 12 years, the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe of Wisconsin has parted ways with its casino spokesperson.

Vince Van Patten, the son of actor Dick Van Patten, was the ubiquitous "face" of the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, formerly known as Potawatomi Bingo Casino. He appeared in radio, TV, print and other ads for the off-reservation casino in downtown Milwaukee.

"Twelve years is a very long time for a spokesperson's market life span, and we made the decision to part ways with Vince last year, at the end of his contract," Tom Malloy, tje assistant general manager and chief marketing officer for the casino, said in a statement to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "It has been our pleasure to work with him ... and we wish him continued success."

Van Patten's contract prevented him from appearing in ads for other casinos in the Midwest. Now that he's a free agent, he's already been approached by the Menominee Nation to work for its proposed off-reservation casino, which the Potawatomis oppose.
