Rival leaders of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians in California are set to meet tomorrow as their casino remains closed.

The parties will be meeting under court-supervised mediation, KSFN reports. Two factions have formed a unity council while a third remains at odds.

The Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino closed on the evening of October 9 when the third council attempted a takeover. The unity council had been in control of the facility.

The next day, a federal judge ordered the casino to remain closed upon request of the state. The National Indian Gaming Commission also issued a notice of violation and a temporary closure order.

Some 1,100 employees have been laid off as a result.
