A member of the Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria in California will be in charge of the tribe's casino.

John McGinnis, who serves on the tribal council, has been selected as the new general manager of the Bear River Casino Hotel. He has worked at the facility for more than eight years.

McGinnis succeeds John O’Neill, who is retiring after 30 years in the tribal gaming industry. McGinnis will take on the new position on January 31, 2015.

“It's reassuring to see the leadership role pass into the expert hands of John McGinnis. John has been instrumental in the growth and success of Bear River Casino Hotel," O’Neill said in a press release.
