The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is moving forward with casino expansion plans after restructuring its debt.

The tribe signed papers for a $145 million loan package. It includes a refinancing of a $70 million existing loan and up to $75 million in credit for the casino expansion.

"This deal is something every tribal member should have pride in because it is the best rates banks have ever given our tribe," Chief Phyliss J. Anderson told The Neshoba Democrat. "This deal clearly demonstrates banks and lenders have confidence in the work we are doing here at Pearl River Resort and on the Choctaw Indian Reservation."

The tribe will return the Golden Moon Hotel and Casino to full operation. Operations there were cut back during the economic downturn.

The tribe also will upgrade hotel rooms and reconfigure the gaming floors at the Silver Star Hotel and Casino
