A group that's fighting the proposed Catawba Nation casino in North Carolina is holding a public forum tonight.

Les Bernal, the national director of Stop Predatory Gambling, will speak at the event. He said the $600 million casino will drain the local economy even though most local officials and business leaders support it.

"Local citizens here, they're not pounding the table for a place to go lose their rent checks, their mortgage and their college tuition dollars," Bernal told WBTV.

The event is being hosted by the Kings Mountain Awareness Group.
