The Poarch Band of Creek Indians is waiting on the the state of Alabama to initiate talks for a Class III gaming compact. The tribe has long been interested in a compact. But Vice Chairman Robbie McGee said the formal request must come from Gov. Robert Bentley (R). "The Poarch Creeks will always be open to the possibility," McGhee told AL.Com. "It just depends on if it's something that's favorable for the tribe and the state." Bentley, who won re-election last week, has said he is open to a compact. He believes a revenue sharing agreement with the tribe might help the state address its budget concerns. Get the Story:
