The Seminole Tribe of Florida remains interested in opening a casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The tribally-owned Hard Rock International is seeking approval to engage in gaming in a city where 4 out of 12 facilities closed last year. The New Jersey Casino Control Commission will hold a special meeting on Thursday to consider the request.

In regulatory filings, the tribe hasn't identified a specific project, the Associated Press reported. Hard Rock previously proposed a casino in Atlantic City but withdrew plans in 2012.
