The Hannahville Indian Community of Michigan announced an $8 million casino expansion project.

The tribe will spend two years to make upgrades and add 15,390 square-feet of space at the Island Resort & Casino. Plans call for a full-service spa, a second golf course, a new hotel entrance and numerous renovations throughout the facility.

"Through the years, the Hannahville Indian Community has undertaken projects to enhance and promote Island Resort & Casino, making us a leader in the Midwest gaming resort-and-golf arena as well as offering employment opportunities to well over 700 persons," Chairman Kenneth Meshigaud said in a press release. "We remain committed to both as we re-invest in the operation, offering additional amenities and enhancements to our guests."
