The Shinnecock Nation of New York is said to be in talks with the Seminole Tribe of Florida to restart gaming plans.

The tribe was partnered with Gateway Casino Resorts of Michigan but the relationship apparently came to an end last fall. That's when tribal leaders turned to the Seminoles, the owners of Hard Rock International.

“They’ve told us they’re about to do a deal with the Seminoles … but there hasn’t been any information about it,” a tribal member told The Southampton Press.

The Seminoles operate several casinos in Florida in addition to hundreds of Hard Rock entertainment facilities around the world. The tribe is also backing the Menominee Nation of Wisconsin in its pursuit of an off-reservation casino in Kenosha.
