The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana is celebrating the 20th birthday of its gaming facility.

The Coushatta Casino Resort opened its doors in 1995. The facility has grown to include 950 hotel rooms, an entertainment pavilion and a golf course.

"I didn't realize how big the impact was going to be," Chairman Lovelin Poncho told The Alexandria Town Talk. The casino now employs more than 2,200 people.

The tribe is almost finished with a remodeling of the Grand Coushatta Hotel at the facility.
