The leader of the Florida Senate said he hasn't heard any news about a Class III gaming compact with the Seminole Tribe. The tribe and Gov. Rick Scott (R) have been negotiating for more than a year but haven't announced a final deal. That doesn't bother Senate President Andy Gardiner (R), who said he “wouldn’t be a bit surprised” if lawmakers don't see a compact during the legislative session. “Being anti-gaming, I’m not losing sleep over it either way,” Gardiner told The Tampa Tribune. Under the current agreement, the tribe shares revenues with the state in exchange for regional exclusivity to offer certain Class III games. Over the last five years, the tribe has contributed more than $1 billion. The revenue sharing provisions end in mid-July. The legislative session ends on May 1. Get the Story:
