The Mohegan Tribe has settled a lawsuit filed by a casino patron, The Connecticut Law Tribune reports.

Salvatore Vizzo, 70, was seriously injured after leaving the Mohegan Sun in October 2011. He was a passenger in a limousine driven by a casino employee, the Tribune reported.

Vizzo filed a claim in tribal court, alleging negligence by the limo driver. The tribe agreed to settle for $775,000, the Tribune reported.

Three other passengers who suffered minor injuries received a total of $50,000 from the tribe, the Tribune reported. All four were represented by the same attorney.

The attorney is also representing the driver of a vehicle that was struck by the limo. That case, which apparently raises questions of tribal sovereign immunity, is pending in the state court system, the Tribune reported.
