Seneca Nation honors boxing great Sully Huff at casino match

Stanley "Sully" Huff

The Seneca Nation is hosting the Sully Huff Invitational at its gaming facility in Niagara Falls, New York.

The match honors the late Stanley “Sully” Huff, a former council member who passed away in December at the age of 81. He was the Courier Express 1950 Gold Gloves Champion and started the Iroquois Boxing Club to share the sport with his fellow Senecas.

"Boxing was a part of him,” Tonia Lewis, an executive director at Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino, told The Buffalo News. “We are happy to honor his memory and his legacy with this remarkable event.”

The event airs tonight on the CBS Sports Network.
