The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians in Michigan opened a restaurant near one of its gaming facilities.

The Ridge Microbrewery & Restaurant is located in a former conference center acquired by the tribe. The site is next to the Leelanau Sands Casino and Lodge in Peshawbestown.

The restaurant, which focuses on sustainable food with a seasonal focus, welcomed its first customers on July 6. Wine tastings will start this fall and the brewery will start producing beer in the next nine months, The Traverse City Record-Eagle reported.

The tribe operates two other gaming facilities.
