The Poarch Band of Creek Indians is airing television ads across Alabama in hopes of drumming up support for a Class III gaming compact. The ads tout the tribe's offer to share revenues with the state in exchange for some form of exclusivity. They are being aired as lawmakers meet in a special session to address a $200 million budget shortfall. "It would generate state revenue and benefit you and me," the ad states, WKRG reported. "Poarch can help fix this deficit mess.” Gov. Robert Bentley (R) has said he is open to talks but insists gaming won't fix all of the state's problems. Get the Story:
