The Chemehuevi Tribe of California will start work soon on a second casino, Today's News-Herald reports.

Chairman Charles Wood told the paper that financing is almost in place for the project. Once that's approved, the facility will be completed within 18 months.

The new facility will include a 48-room hotel, amenity that's currently lacking on the reservation. Wood previously told the paper that tribal members don't have many places to stay when they come home.

The tribe already operates the Havasu Landing Resort and Casino.
