The Hannahville Indian Community of Michigan continues work on a second casino golf course.

The 18-hole facility isn't set to open until the fall of 2017. But the tribe has already chosen a name: it will be known as Sage Run, a complement to the existing Sweetgrass Golf Club at the Island Resort and Casino.

"We selected sage because we wanted to highlight another of our four traditional tribal medicines – along with cedar, tobacco and sweet grass,” Tony Mancilla, a tribal member who serves as general manager of the casino, said in a press release. “The word ‘run’ in the name references the 10 holes that traverse significantly downhill on the course.”

Famed designer Paul Albanese, who created Sweetgrass for the tribe, is leading work at Sage Run. Sweetgrass is located at the casino while Sage Run will be about six miles away.

Albanese also designed a course for the Ohiya Casino, owned by the Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska. The Tatanka Golf Club has already won favorable reviews.
