Former casino worker took $23K from Northern Cheyenne Tribe

Wenonah Sue Wagner, 31, is accused of stealing more than $23,000 from the Charging Horse Casino and Bingo in Lame Deer, Montana. She allegedly took the money on November 15, 2015.

Wagner subsequently left Montana and returned to Oklahoma, where her family lives, and ended up being incarcerated there, according to court records. She finally was brought to Montana on Monday and entered a plea of not guilty.

But on Tuesday, her attorney filed a motion to change her plea to guilty. The charge on the indictment falls under 18 U.S. Code § 1168(b), Theft by officers or employees of gaming establishments on Indian lands.
