Panel to discuss voting issues on Navajo Nation
Friday, September 17, 2004

A town hall meeting in the capitol of the Navajo Nation will focus on voting rights.

A panel of experts will discuss issues that could undermine the voting process. Tim Kingston of Global Exchange, an international human rights group, cited the 2000 presidential election and problems in Florida as one example.

The goal is to educate tribal people about voting rights. The Navajo Nation Get Out the Vote Campaign is co-sponsoring the event.

The Navajo Nation is holding its tribal election on the same day as the national election.
