Poll finds Herseth with strong lead over Diedrich
Tuesday, September 28, 2004

Rep. Stephanie Herseth (D-South Dakota) has a 7-point lead over Republican challenger Larry Diedrich, according to a new poll.

According to the Argus Leader/KELO-TV poll, 49 percent of voters favor Herseth compared to 42 percent for Diedrich. About 1 percent support Libertarian Terry Begay, a member of the Navajo Nation.

Herseth won a special U.S. House election in June with the help of Indian voters. She is facing Diedrich again for a full two-year term.
