Church ordered to remove tent from reservation
Tuesday, October 5, 2004

A tent on the Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Reservation in California has been told to move or face destruction.

The tent, intended as a command center for a homeless shelter, was erected by the Global Church over the summer. But the church never got permission from the tribe or Riverside County.

The tribe, county and church worked out an agreement to remove the tent by September 30. But now that the deadline has passed, the county says the tent must be removed by this week.
