Montana governor appoints two tribal members

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D) appointed two tribal members to two state boards.
Elouise Cobell, a member of the Blackfeet Nation, is joining the state Board of Investments. Cobell is a banker who is the lead plaintiff in the Indian trust fund lawsuit.
Janine Pease, a member of the Crow Tribe, is joining the Montana Human Rights Commission. Pease is a longtime educator who is currently vice president for American Indian Affairs with Rocky Mountain College.
Schweitzer has earned praise from tribal leaders for including Native Americans in his administration.
