Video generates lead in case of missing Native teen
Friday, February 25, 2005

Video footage of the last known sighting of a missing Native teen has prompted a man to turn himself into the Winnipeg, Manitoba, police.

The footage showed Sunshine Wood, 17, talking with a man as she left the St. Regis Motel a year ago. She went missing soon after.

Police did not comment on whether the man, who identified himself after media coverage of the video, is connected to Wood's disappearance.

Wood was from the God's River First Nation in rural Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg to continue her schooling.
