Displaced O'odham community gets a reservation

The Hia-Ced O'odham Tribe of Arizona now has a place to call home thanks to the help of the Tohono O'odham Nation.

The Hia-Ced are descendants of the Sand Papago Tribe who were not granted a reservation in the early 1900s. They have been tying to rebuild their community ever since.

To help out, the Tohono O'odham Nation purchased 640 acres adjacent to its reservation. The goal is to have the land placed in trust.

The Hia-Ced O'odham Tribe has about 1,200 members in the U.S. and Mexico.
