Si Tanka said to remove property from campus

Officials from Si Tanka University are said to have removed "everything that was not bolted down" from its shuttered campus in Huron, South Dakota.

Si Tanka filed for bankruptcy protection after being denied federal funds to keep the campus in Huron up and running. The school has defaulted $6.6 million worth of loans and faces a $2 million federal tax lien in addition to owing dozens of local businesses.

Si Tanka is chartered by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. The campus in Eagle Butte on the reservation is not in financial trouble.
