Saginaw Chippewa recall fight over Abramoff continues

An effort to recall leaders of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe who fired lobbyist Jack Abramoff is continuing in Michigan.
A group of tribal members are upset over the way four council members handled the Abramoff scandal. So they have been trying to recall Chief Audrey Falcon, Subchief Bernie Sprague, Secretary Ruth Moses, Treasurer Charmaine Benz and Sergeant-at-Arms Brent Jackson.
The effort so far has failed. The council has rejected the recall petitions as invalid but organizers Patricia Peters and Delores Jackson have filed suit in tribal court in hopes of keeping the bid alive.
The tribe reportedly spent $14 million on Abramoff and his partner Michael Scanlon. Falcon and her allies say the services weren't worth the cost.
