Goshute chairman to be sentenced for tax fraud

The chairman of the Skull Valley Goshute Tribe of Utah will be sentenced today for pleading guilty to a single count of tax fraud.
Leon Bear, 49, faces up to the three years in jail and a $100,000 fine. But in a plea agreement, federal prosecutors agreed to recommend a light sentence.
Bear's critics are eagerly awaiting word of his punishment. They have been trying to oust him over charges of corruption and for his decision to bring a nuclear waste repository to the reservation.
