Ohio Congressman subpoenaed in Abramoff case

Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio) announced on Friday that he has received a subpoena from the federal grand jury investigating disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Ney said he was ordered to turn over documents and to provide testimony to the grand jury. He said he will cooperate fully with the investigation.

Ney has been repeatedly tied to Abramoff. In 2002, he agreed to insert a rider into the Help America Vote Act that would help the Tigua Tribe of Texas reopen its casino. The effort failed and Ney later claimed he had been "duped" by Abramoff.

Ney said last month that he has spent $136,000 in legal fees as part of the Abramoff inquiry.
