Sen. Burns to recycle Abramoff donations again

Sen. Conrad Burns (R-Montana) is going to try to donate $111,000 in donations connected to Jack Abramoff after the Montana-Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council [Web Site] refused to accept the money.

The council voted Tuesday not to take the money. "To us, it's tainted money," Julia Doney, the president of the Fort Belknap Indian Community, told the Associated Press. "If he wanted us to have extra money, he would have given it to us in other ways."

Burns received the donations from Abramoff's former tribal clients. One of them, the Tigua Tribe of Texas, says it would like to get its money back. "If they feel that they have to give it back, they should give it back to the tribe," Tigua Governor Arturo Senclair told the AP.
