Abramoff called to testify in Florida murder case
Friday, March 24, 2006
Disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff and a former business partner are being subpoenaed to testify in a Florida murder case.
Abramoff and former partner Adam Kidan bought the SunCruz fleet of casino boats from Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis. Shortly after the deal went through, Boulis was murdered on the streets of Fort Lauderdale.
Three men, who are associates of Kidan, are charged with the murder. They have pleaded not guilty. One of the defendants is filing the subpoena of Abramoff and Kidan.
Abramoff admitted to bank fraud charges as part of the purchase of SunCruz for $147.5 million. Kidan also pleaded to charges.
