Rep. Doolittle hires criminal attorney on Abramoff
Tuesday, April 18, 2006

Rep. John Doolittle (R-California) has hired an attorney who specializes in criminal law to provide legal advice about Jack Abramoff, The Sacramento Bee reports.
Doolittle says David G. Barger, of the Williams Mullen firm, is helping him field media questions about his relationship with Abramoff. He says he has not been contacted by the Department of Justice.
Doolittle is a friend of Abramoff's. He has said the sentenced felon was a "very effective lobbyist" for tribes.
