Rincon man convicted for meth-related murders

A man from the Rincon Reservation in California was convicted of murdering his girlfriend and their unborn child after a night of drinking and methamphetamine use.
Andree Calac, 27, faces a maximum of 80 years in prison for the deaths of Marlene Magee, 22, and their unborn child. Both he and Calac had meth in their systems the night of the February 15, 2004, incident.
Calac had said he accidentally shot Magee in the face. He testified that he had been arguing with Magee because she had continued to use meth and drink alcohol during her pregnancy and that he feared their child would be taken away.
