Methamphetamine ring leads to charges against 53

A record 53 people have been charged in connection with a major methamphetamine trafficking ring that affected the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming.

U.S. Attorney Matthew Mead said 43 people have been arrested and are in custody. The remaining 10 people are still at large.

Most of the people charged are from the reservation. Other defendants are from California, Washington, Colorado and Mexico.

Tribal authorities cooperated with federal law enforcement to break up the ring, the largest in Wyoming history.
