U.S. Supreme Court to post same-day transcripts
Friday, September 15, 2006

The U.S. Supreme Court will post same-day transcripts of oral arguments on its web site.

Americans usually have to wait two weeks for the transcripts to appear. Or they could pay the court's transcription firm hundreds of dollars for a rush copy.

But advances in technology now mean the transcripts will be available the same day as the oral arguments.
