Indian Affairs Committee business meeting

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee is meeting for the second time today.

The committee will consider changes to its rules and a funding resolution for the 110th Congress. The meeting takes place at 9:30am in Room 485 of the Senate Russell Office Building.

The committee held its first meeting on January 18. At that time, Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota) was named chairman and Sen. Craig Thomas (R-Wyoming) was named vice chairman.

The other Democratic members of the committee are: Daniel Inouye of Hawaii; Kent Conrad of North Dakota; Daniel Akaka of Hawaii; Tim Johnson of South Dakota Maria Cantwell of Washington; Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Jon Tester of Montana.

The other Republican members are: John McCain of Arizona; Lisa Murkowski of Alaska; Tom Coburn of Oklahoma; Pete Domenici of New Mexico; Gordon Smith of Oregon and Richard Burr of North Carolina.

In addition to today's meeting, Dorgan will host a listening session in Bloomington, Minnesota, on Saturday. The session takes place at 9am at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
