Two Ponca tribes reunite after 125 years apart

The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma and the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska reunited for the first time on Thursday, more than 125 years after they were split apart by the federal government.
The tribes are meeting over two days at Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas. One of their main issues is language, since the Poncas in Nebraska have no fluent speakers after suffering through removal in the late 1800s and through termination in the 1960s.
The tribes are also discussing other partnerships, such as economic development.
