Blackfeet Nation surveys damage from storm

The Blackfeet Nation is working with the federal government to determine the extent of damage from last week's severe windstorm.

Five homes were completely destroyed by winds as high as 75 mph and gusts as high as 110 mph. Additional damages were reported on several other homes.

Despite the storm's toll, the tribe might not meet the federal threshold of $1.1 million to declare the reservation a disaster area. A state lawmaker has set up a bank account to help those families in need.
