Upcoming Senate and House committee hearings

There are two hearings of interest in the coming weeks.

This Thursday, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee is holding a business meeting to consider pending legislation. It will be followed by an oversight hearing on tribal colleges and universities.

Next Wednesday, on April 18, the House Natural Resources Committee holds a hearing on two federal recognition bills. One applies to the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and the other to six Virginia tribes.
