A music teacher accused of abusing and endangering 17 girls at the Onondaga Nation School in New York denies any wrongdoing.
“It just didn’t happen,” Albert Scerbo told The New York Times in an interview. “It’s just not right.”
Scerbo, 44, is free on bail pending trial. He is accused of abusing 16 girls and endangering another girl during a four-year period.
The allegations came to light after two girls said they were abused. Soon, more students came forward with stories that Scerbo and his lawyer said are hard to believe.
“How could this be going on at school at this magnitude without anybody noticing or speaking out?” Scerbo's lawyer said.
The Onondaga County district attorney says all the evidence will come out at trial.
