Chippewa Cree Tribe hopes to declare water safe

The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana hopes to declare the water system on the Rocky Boy's Reservation safe by the end of the week.

The tribe and the Environmental Protection Agency have been working to clean up the system after a degreasing solvent was mistakenly placed in the water. A few people have reported flu-like symptoms.

The tribe issued a no-use order throughout the reservation. Twelve communities are still asked not to drink or use the water.
