Two Montana tribes start to recover from flooding

The Crow Tribe and the Northern Cheyenne Tribe are starting to recover from floods that hit their reservations in Montana.

Crow Chairman Carl Venne declared the reservation a disaster area. The tribe is starting to tally losses from the floods that started last Friday. Damages could run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars, a disaster and emergency services coordinator for the tribe said.

The nearby Northern Cheyenne Tribe hasn't hear of any major problems, the disaster and emergency services coordinator said. The Indian Health Service issued a boil-water order for four private wells until they can be tested.
