The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal heard the province's attempt to reinstate a hate crime charge against Native leader David Ahenakew.
Ahenakew, a former chief of the Assembly of First Nations, was convicted of spreading hate about Jewish people. But a judge overturned the verdict and ordered a new trail.
"I'm angry, damn it For three years I've been deprived of work," the 73-year-old Ahenakew said outside the courtroom in Regina, CBC News reported.
Ahenakew was criticized by the Jewish community for praising Hitler and the Holocaust.
