Letter: More media coverage on reservations

"I am for more media coverage of the events taking place within tribal governments, especially when it comes to something like the recent events happening on the Northern Cheyenne reservation between the actions of tribe's leadership and its council. Perhaps with more media coverage, then maybe it'll force leaders to be more professional.

With the council not wanting media coverage of the "ousting of its president," then it's presumable to say that it was attempting to do something outside of the boundaries of the tribe's constitution. With more media coverage, perhaps the tribe's president and secretary might have been less apt to throw punches and be more willing to work things out professionally. With more media coverage, I think a lot of corruption in tribal governments would end. Lights, camera, action. The media is not perfect by far, but it plays its role in helping shape democracy and the like."
