Man pleads guilty to killing wife hours after wedding

A man from Canada pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for killing his Potawatomi wife hours after they were married.

Derek Joseph Linklater, 25, admitted that he beat Loretta Lea Wandahsega, 34, to death on July 12. Wandahsega was a member of the Hannahville Indian Community in Michigan.

Linklater is reportedly from the North Spirit Lake First Nation in Ontario. He was being prosecuted in federal court.
