Famous Dave opens water park resort in Illinois

"Famous" Dave Anderson, a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Lake Superior Band of Ojibwe, is opening a new water park resort in Illinois.

The $135 million KeyLime Cove Water Resort is in Gurnee, about halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It features a 65,000-square-foot water park, a hotel and restaurants and eateries.

"There's a whole new world once you get inside the doors," Anderson, a former head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, told The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Anderson started the Famous Dave's barbecue restaurant chain and helped create the Rainforest Cafe chain. He also ran an Indian gaming management company.
